Behind Edition 01 — Chaos
How the first drop came together, from swatch to shoot.
Edition 01 started with a decision that cost us money: no restocks. Every piece is made in one run, numbered, and then the pattern is retired. It's a worse business model in the short term and it's the only one that makes the word 'edition' mean anything.
The fabric took four months
We went through eleven swatches before landing the 240 GSM garment-dyed cotton. The ones we rejected mostly failed the same test — after three home washes on a normal Indian machine cycle, the neckline had gone. We washed every candidate fifteen times before signing anything.
Why numbering matters
Every order carries its Edition number in the format WASTD/UTSAV26/0001. It's on the invoice, the packing slip, and in your account. It's not a gimmick — it's a real sequence, issued once, never reused. If you own 0003 of a 200-piece run, you own 0003.
When it's gone, it's gone. That's the point.
The star mark that runs through the Edition came out of the same idea. It's off-axis in every application — never sitting flat, never centred quite where you expect. Chaos, but on purpose.
